Finpension was initiated in 2015 by Beat Bühlmann. Together with Ivo Blättler, a former companion at a Swiss private bank, he first established the 1e collective foundation. By establishing the foundation, they anticipated a change in the law, which was enacted by the Federal Council on 1 October 2017. In 2018, the offer was expanded to include a affiliated solution in the form of a vested benefits foundation. Under the management of Gaëtan Maraite, a new location was established in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Finally, in 2020, the 3a Retirement Savings Foundation was added, which completes the range of pension products for the moment.
