The program is open to Proton Mail Plus, Proton Unlimited and Visionary customers with no arrears on their account. Where can I find my referral link? You can find your referral link by going to your referral dashboard(new window) on the web. If you’re using the Proton Mail app for iPhone or iPad, open the hamburger menu at the top left and tap Refer a friend. My referral link uses “pr.tn”. What’s that? We’re using the pr.tn(new window) domain to provide shorter referral links that are easier to share. It is safe to use, and will simply redirect your friends to a personalized signup page. I referred someone but they forgot to use my referral link. Can I still get credits? Sadly no. It’s important that your referee uses your referral link when they sign up. If they have any trouble using your link, contact our customer support team straight away. Can I invite friends who have used Proton Mail before? No. You’ll only get credits from referring people who have never used before. How many people can I refer? You can refer as many people as you like, but the maximum amount of referral credits you can earn is $90. Can I just post my referral link online? The referral program works best when you share your link with friends and colleagues, rather than strangers. If you share your link online, be mindful of the guidelines or rules of the site you post it on, and avoid bulk mailing or spamming. How can I track my invites and rewards? You can track your invites and rewards in your referral dashboard(new window) or by signing in to your Proton Mail account on your browser: Settings → Go to Settings → Refer a friend. You’ll also receive an email when someone you’ve referred subscribes to a paid plan. In my account I see that I’ve received 4.99 credits instead of 5. Why? Credits are based on the actual pricing of our Mail Plus plan, which is 4.99 in all supported currencies. For the sake of clarity, we’ve rounded this amount to 5 wherever communicated. As credits are meant to be used automatically when you get a new invoice, this has no impact on your experience. When will I get my credits? Your credits will be automatically applied to your next month’s bill. Can I exchange my credits in cash? You can only use your credits on your Proton Mail subscription. What happens to my credits if I change my subscription plan? Currently, you can refer friends when you’re on our Proton Mail Plus, Proton Unlimited and Visionary plans. If you change your subscription plan, you won’t be able to use the referral scheme any more. But you’ll still be able to redeem any credits you’ve already earned.
