How to claim a referral reward 1. Share your unique referral link with friends who don’t have a Monzo account. Your referral link is in the referral section of your Monzo app - tap the Gift icon at the top of your home screen 🎁 2. Your friends tap the link and enter their mobile number to accept your invitation, which starts the clock.  They have 14 days to: Download the Monzo app; Apply for a Monzo account; Add money to their account using an eligible funding method. See "Qualified methods of funding and spending" list below; Activate their Monzo card; and Spend at least $5 on their Monzo card. Peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers don't count. See "Qualified methods of funding and spending" list below.   Once your friend accepts your invitation, they'll get messages to the mobile number they provided, telling them how long they have to complete the referral steps above. 3. Once your friend completes the required steps, we’ll add $15 to both of your Monzo accounts within 7 business days.  You’ll each get a push notification to your Monzo app when the bonus is deposited. We’ll keep you updated and let you know if we’re waiting on your friend to: accept your referral; download the Monzo app; activate their Monzo card; and spend the minimum amount using their Monzo card. Qualified methods of funding and spending Adding money to your card The following ways of adding money qualify as eligible funding ✅ ACH bank transfers from another account to Monzo, using the Monzo app or your other bank's app/website Direct deposit from your employer Debit card top-up using another bank's debit card Debit card top-up using P2P apps like Venmo, Cash App, Paypal, or Zelle   The following ways do not qualify ❌ Monzo instant transfers with friends Monzo account to account transfers (between your personal and joint accounts) Wire transfers Cash deposits Check deposits Crypto site / app transfers     Spending money with your card  The following types of purchases qualify as eligible spend  ✅ Online merchants In-store retail merchants   The following purchases do not qualify ❌ P2P apps like Venmo, Cash App, Paypal, or Zelle Crypto sites or apps ATM (in network or out of network) Gift cards Gambling sites Monzo instant transfers with friends Any transaction made using your account/routing number Transfers to linked bank accounts Certain digital goods and professional services may not qualify Exclusive offer Some customers may see an increased $30 reward promoted in their app. If you see this listed in your app, you are eligible for an exclusive offer where you can earn an increased reward for every referral you make.  To claim this exclusive offer, you will need to send your unique referral with friends who don’t have a Monzo account.
